Blueing

I have seen a few comments about the blueing of the new handirifles leaving something to be desired. The same seems to be the case with mine. Have any of you out there reblued your new rifles? If you have, then what method did you use? I am looking at a d.i.y. job, and don't really have the expertise to do a hot job. Do the cold blueing methods work good enough to make it worth the trouble?
Thanks,
Michael

Personally, I wouldn't reblue any of mine unless the barrel were properly polished. The main problem with the Handi's blue is not the blueing process but the rough machining finish left on the barrel. It can be polished up, but would require a lot more work than a barrel with a higher degree of machine finish. What does work really well on the Handi is a camo paint job. Several fella's on the old site posted pics. Looked nice. I wouldn't bother with a cold blue finish, it will not be any better than what you have now.

jbtazgrabber, Is that 445 you refer to a rechamber of a 44 Mag Handi? How do you like it??? I've been thinking about this for while now, Big Bre Fan has as well. Let us know what you think of it, Thanks, JP
