I am getting ready to reload for my 1911, that has been throated. I was wondering what luck this board has had with fphard cast, jhp, and jsp? I have fired some lead reloads a friend gave me that were a cross between a rn and a fp, with out problems. I will use mainly for a carry gun. The gun feeds well buts its an auto!!

i usually use nosler 185 hp. i have recently switched to a truncated cone 230 grain lead bullet (lee). works great. no leading. and alot cheaper than buying the noslers.

The key to good feeding lies in the crimp. 45 ACP needs a decent taper crimp so the mouth won't hang up on the ramp. My 45s will feed any ammo that has been crimped properly. Recently a friend bought some Wally world white box ammo. It had a bad mouth and wouldn't feed in his HK. I ran them through my Dillon taper crimp die and they now cycle perfect.

I stopped the other day at wally and picked up the win white box 230 hp. These were cheap, going to range this week, to try out. I wished they stocked 44sp as I could use some brass.
