Firefly reticle, lots of questions ?
« on: July 26, 2004, 11:29:29 PM »
Does anybody here have any experience with the firefly rectile.

Does it get to bright in dark conditions if newly charged.
For How long will the charge hold, not only bright but as a visble effect enougth to see the rectile against dark woods and bushes.
Does the green color of the rectile ever  get "invisble" agains gras and plain fields during lowlight.
Most important, is it usefull, if I cant see my ordinary rectile good enought I cant  see the game good enought ...or ??

I have the FF reticle on my Elite 3200 1.5x-4.5x-32mm (on my .375H&H Mag.)

During the day, the black reticle is THICK - which I don't really like.  During the evening, you take a small flashlight and shine it into the front end of the scope for about 3 min or so.  It is very bright in the begining, then gets less bright, and eventually dims out.  The total brightness lasts about 20 to 30 minutes.

I still prefer the electric illluminated reticle, but if the batteries go out, then you've got nothing.  With the FF, all you need is a small flashlight.
