If I had those three rifles, 22-250, 30-06, and 338, I wouldn't be looking at any others unless I just wanted one. I can see it as a replacement for the 30-06, but it's not what you're trying to do.
Since you're looking for an excuse, consider rebarreling and rechambering into a cartridge that really interests you. It seems like a good action for a wildcat or proprietary cartridge.
You could also use it as your "beanfield" gun. Load it up with light bullets and but a big scope on it and let it fill a niche that the 30-06 doesn't quite do. If the 30-06 is a good 300 yard gun, the 270 Weatherby with full power loads and light high BC bullets is a 400 yard gun.
