ANOTHER GOOD DEAL FOR ME
« on: July 29, 2004, 04:40:41 AM »
Ok, still have not heard from H&R about my stainless 270 barrel but let me tell you about the trade I made last night. I know there not NEF's or H&R's but listen to this. I traded a Ruger M77 stainless 300 mag with a laminated stock for----Remington 7600 BDL pump 270 win. with deer engraving on one side and bear engraving on the other side plus a new Ruger GP100 357 mag. So looks like when I get my Ultra back with the 270 barrel I'll have two of them to hunt with.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Though I would have been tempted to hang on to the M77. Those are nice rifles.

BBF, I've been paying attention to your posts over the last couple of months, and I've made some conclusions based on my observations.

You've been systematically selling off your battery, all the while acquiring new and different arms.

I've decided that you are going through a gun nut/hunting nut's version of a midlife crises :eek:

New guns are better than a new Porsch to us, huh?

Wlscott you are right. It just does not get any better than this. No on a serious note, I have been thinning them down lately but I've been getting these deals I just can not pass up. Like the 10 gauge for 60.00 I redone the stock and forearm and a friend offered me 100.00 for it. The GP100 I can sell right now for 350.00 Bad thing is I should sell it but this little voice keeps telling me ( :twisted: NO NO NO NO, KEEP IT :twisted: ) The 7600 pump with the engraving around 400.00 but it so nice. Talk about confusing. You're probally right about the mid-life crissis, but lets hope the mid-live is kicking in 10 years early because I would like to make it to at least 80. :)  :)  :)

Quickdtoo you and I must have the same ailment, age is about the same. Up to a year and a half ago I had never owed a center fire rifle, now I have a closet full and want more. the better half lets me get away with it I guise it keeps me off the streets. If this is middle age crises I can use more of it.  :D

Well, up until about 15 yrs ago, all I had was a .22, 12ga and a couple different calibers of deer rifles, but only one at a time. Then I got into buckskinning and bought a couple muzzleloaders and a pistol. Never really was interested in a nice collection of rifles of any sort, then I found out about the NEF/H&R and that started the ball a rollin, first a .223 Ultra Varmint, then .243 and .25-06 barrels, then BBF sold me an SB2 frame and then a topper frame and .357maxi barrel, and now I've sent the SB2 frame in for a .45-70 barrel.....not only rifles now, but scopes for all of em and then some.....where will it end!!!! Oh yeah, bought 3  17hmrs with scopes since March, too.... :wink:

BBF;

Your not alone in your midlife gun crisis. I, myself have bought more rifles and shotguns in the last 2 years than any other time in my life. And it all started when I bought that Ultra Varmit in 223. Did not fire it and sent the recivier in for a 44mag barrel. then came the NWTF turkey 12ga. then a Marlin 1894FG in 41mag. Next came a Ruger Mod. 77 MKII in 7.62X39 caliber. After that had to have a Huntsman barrel on the NWTF shotgun.
Geez.... When is it going to end!  :eek:
Some guys buy sportscars, I guess we buy guns...Well at least its not as expensive as a Vette, a least not yet.  :shock:
