Bounty Hunter .22
« on: July 30, 2004, 01:45:01 PM »
Just put an EAA Bounty Hunter dual cylinder 22 on hold at Jay's.  It was in the used gun case.  Looks as new, no blueing wear and only the slightest mark on the .22 cylinder.  This is a full sized gun, unlike the Ruger single six.  Can you believe $85?  I know the write up's on the large bore guns are good but does anyone have any experience with these in .22?  Are they an ok shooter?  I guess at $85 I don't expect much, if it is decent at all, I will be pleased.  It will be a fun gun to practice spinning with (empty, of course) and if I drop it while learning, I won't feel too bad.  44 Man

Well sir, Lloyd, I got that Bounty Hunter home today.  This is a full sized gun with an aluminum frame and grip frame with one piece wood grips.  Transfer bar system with a passable trigger pull, abeit a bit long.  It has a 6 7/8" full profile barrel and has a good muzzle heavy feel to it.  There is no perceived recoil to it at all.  At 10 yds, two handed, it's grouping 4 shots into 1" and the other 2 open it up to 2".  Don't know if that is the gun or me, have to get it to the bench to find out.  I wish it had the 4 1/2" barrel, but other than that I am well pleased.  Being full sized, it certainly is easier to load and unload than my Bearcat!  (speaking of which, how come we forgot to bring those to the shoot?)  Wish it were the 4 1/2" version but other than that, I am well pleased.  (especially for $85!)  44 Man

Lloyd, I've got an old Bushnell Phantom (remember when they were all you could get?) 2.5x pistol scope with a clamp on mount.  Think I will put her on here temporarily and see what this puppy will do!
