« on: July 31, 2004, 03:01:16 PM »
Just bought kel-tec 9mm today used with no instruction manuel. How does it come apart. Is there anything that a gunsmith can do about the trigger? It is a very smooth about 5lbs until it hits end then its about 15lbs   Trigger is probably suitable for its purpose. Thanks in advance :D

Les :  Remove the mag. make sure it is MT, as in unloaded, lock the slide in the open position, take a mt casr and using the rim remove the pin going thru the slide will remove to the left side of the slide reliease the slide and it will come off towards the front, remove the spring and take the barrel out of the slide, to assemble do in reverse, hope that helped. :D    JIM

From what I have heard kel-tec will install lighter springs and lighten the trigger for a very reasonable fee and quick turn around. You may want to contact them.

les, contact kel-tek, I'm sure they'll send you an owners manual.

:( I didn't have to take apart a .40 Kel-tec. I just shot a clip thru it and it flew apart.. Empties hit me in the head right over the hairline..It lasted one shootinng session then went back to the store.. We have a 9mm tho' that does great.. The gent above gave good advice to take it down... cbagman
