TC cherokee 45 cal.

I have two TC cherokee in 45 cal.  The cherokee is a 6lb hawkin type rifle.  A friend wants to buy one of the guns.  What would be a fair price for the gun?  It does show use.  There is some pitting around the nipple area.  The wood is perfect.

Thanks for any help.

Cherokee's and Seneca's are running pretty high now days - haven't been made for something like 10-12 years.   The 45's are the most common, so don't pull the higher prices that a 32 or 36 would.   Prices I've seen run from 250-275 up to 500+ depending on condition.   I recently got a LNIB 32 with tang peep for 350, and considered a very clean 36 for about 450.   Have passed on several 45's (Seneca's) because I already have five 45's cap and flint.      HTH

I've got a .45 Seneca myself. Of all the original T/C black powder rifles,
it's probably the closest to an actual antique in appearence as it is supposed to be based on a late percussion period New England rifle. I've always thought it was a handsome piece and well balanced. Mine handles
p.r.b. or Maxis with equal accuracy. I don't understand why they weren't more popular as they carried easily at just over 6 pounds.

Depends on how good a freind he is,,and what he's gonna do with it.
If  his kids or grand kids or wife is gonna shoot it and you know they'll use it,,,or does he just want it too hang on the wall or sell it.??

I found one "very good" just awhile back fer 200, passed it on to a friend for cost and shipping. But I know that gun will be used and kept in the family for years!
If ya go 250 fer a pal today you won't hurt'im too bad,,if you list it with photos and description on an "auction" ,,well maybe 300 or better.

Depends on how good a freind he is.
