HELP NEEDED, ASAP!!!! MARLIN 81TS??

I AM LOOKING AT BUYING THE MARLIN .22 81TS

ITS IN AN AUCTION.....AND ENDS IN AN HOUR!!

HAS ANYONE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS OR HAVE SOME ADVICE!!

Uh oh........ I think I'm a bit late for you to make that auction. I hope you bought it/got it at a fair price because the 81TS is an excellent shooter. I have Marlin's 81TS, the 880SQ, and an 881.......... and the difference in group sizes between all three guns is..............     .07 of an inch. That figure is an average of many targets per gun.

Depending on the ammo used the 81TS will easily shoot groups of .30 inch at 25 yards. That opens up quite a bit at 50 yds though as is expected.

All my Marlins have proven to be more accurate than expected for the price paid. They all have been reliable and eat any ammo stuck in them but with varying degrees of accuracy.... Thunderbolts for example resemble shotgun patterns instead of groups but without changing anything on the gun but changing to Wolf Match Target ammo results in .25 inch or less groups at 25 yds. The gun is fussy about which ammo it will shoot accurately.

goose7856, I'm a little late for the auction but the 81TS is a great little rifle. I bought mine 2 years ago at Wal-mart for $137.00 brand new!  :grin:

It's a very accurate inexpensive rifle and it's a Marlin so you can't go wrong. Mine has had several cases of all kinds of ammo run through it and it seems to like just about anything I feed it without a single problem.

So, if you missed the deal on the auction you can still buy a brand new one at Wal-mart at a good price. A very good investment either way, new or used.
