why? i mean even if you're one of those single shot guys who thinks it makes it more challenging, what do you do when you butt-shoot a duck? where's your follow-up shot to keep him from sailing off and dying in the weeds somewhere? when i guide i only shoot at crippled ducks that may not fall in the pool. I would estimate that without that ability you would lose 10-20% of ducks that are fatally hit. Particularly with steel shot.
i just don't get the appeal here, can you explain it to me? If the "one shot" thing is so great, get an 870 and just decide to only shoot once. Then you've got a way to humanely dispatch birds you didn't kill, just in case.
