« on: August 04, 2004, 08:56:19 AM »
Gentlemen,
I traded for a win. mod. 12, Checked the date on it and it was manuf.
in 1958. Its in exl. condition. Going to a gun show this week end and i'm going to put it on the table, Question is what is a fair price to ask for it ?
Like i said it shows very little wear, would welcome any reports, Thanks guys..............Joe................

need more info... is it 3" or 2 3/4"? choke? rib? vent rib? wood? series (trap, skeet, heavy duck)?   recoil pad?  can we assume the serial numbers match?

a picture would be wonderful, but if you tell us some more about it that might get the job done.

OK gentlemen,
First i don't think a win mod came out in 1958 with any thing but a wood stock, So yes it's wood. No vent rib it's full choke and i think its 2.3/4".
It's kind of a plain Jane but looks like it came rite out of the box. The old man that had it couldent remember if he had shot it or not. I'm old but he was real old. I'm not looking at the gun now because its already loaded
into the back of my van. Looking in Fjestad's book of gun values I would think about $ 350.oo would be a fair price to start with. Thanks for the intrest. Take care.........Joe............

If it's as nice as you say, and has a 30" full barrel and no special wood (there is a very wide range of wood stocks available from the factory on M12s) I'd be surpised if you couldn't get closer to 400... infact I'd ask more like 500 if it's basically new.  If it has a longer barrel it's worth even more.  You could call simmons custom shop here in KC and see what they'd pay for it, and start there... they've done 90% of the after-market m12 work for years.
