Esteemed Board

Does anyone know where one might find a four round mag for a Sako Hunter in 308?  My brother has one that someone jammed a five round 75 mag in and closed the bolt.  Then brought it into the shop to trade it in!

My Sako 308 Hunter (1997) has a drop box.  But my newer Sako 75 rifles  have clips.  You should be able to order out of the owners manual.

This one has a reciever #L581, not a series he's seen before.  The reciever is also flat topped, not dovetailed for a scope.  The bottom of the stock is not inletted for a floorplate.  He says that the 75 mag fits perfectly but it's just one round too tall.

He's wondering if it's a European model someone brought over rather than one manufactured for import?

I would contact SAKO directly and ask what the magazine is for this rifle.  Be sure to include the serial number and any model designation found on the rifle with your request.  SAKO has built flat top actions before.  They were imported into the US and used by other companies to make rifles for sale.  SAKO's web address is      www.sako.fi          Of course this is the address to their homepage..Good luck and let us know what you find out!
