Thinking about trading for  a 308 Ultra tomorrow.  Anybody got any negatives about this rifle?

Thanks in advance, Tacomaj

I haven't heard anything negative specific to the .308 other than the normal H&R excentricities.

I've been wanting a .308 Ultra for a while.  Just never have gotten around to getting one.

What are you trading for it?

Trading a 243 Handi.  Can't seem to get consistent accuracy out of it.

Only positives with the 308, go out and get it. Let us know how it performs.  The case is a proven accurate design, lower recoil than 30/06 and just plain nice shooter.  I would like to get the 308 barrel added to my H&R reciever,  however I believe the 308 Ultra barrel add-on is a heavy barrel and I am not so sure I want a heavy barreled 308.  I believe I can get the standard handi barrel in 308, but I do not know what the finish difference is if any.  You may want to check into the 'to be traded for' barrel for it's thickness and weight.  However, I believe a new 308 Ultra has a standard size barrel.  Why only an Ultra 308 'heavy' barrel is listed on the add-on site, I do not know?  Good Luck, BuzzKill.
