Meanest and nicest western movie charecter

I liked the charactor of Al Swearinigen too. Very complicated man.
 
The real Al Swearingen grew up about 10 miles from my home town. His parents are buried in a little cemetary near the local college.

Has anybody mentioned George Kennedy? Maybe not the absolute meanest, but he played some pretty ornery bad guys in his day...and he played some pretty likable fellas, too.

Rooster Cogburn in True grit. Not only the nicest but far and away the greatest. I have watched the movie maybe 100 times and it still thrills me when he turns his horse spins his rifle and say,s the famous quote. CAn anyone give me his quote?

I  think  the  actors  name  in  the  movie  Last  man  Standing  is  Christopher  Walken.  Mean  rascle.

meanest : gian volonte , the guy in the sergio leone
               films that played the sweaty bewhiskered
               villian that clint eastwood killed at the end
               of "fist full of dollars" character named ramon
               and the one lee van cleef killed in " for a few
               dollars more" character named indio


nicest : alan ladd , in "shane"  the character shane
            didn't take any money or property and could
           have stolen joe starrett's wife if he'd wanted
            'cause she surely had an eye on him , but
            he just rode off in the sunset like a good western hero
