Will DW make a 500?

I am curious if there is any talk that DW will make a revolver in the SW 500 caliber.

This is just a personal observation (and opinion), but, after witnessing the problems that my friend had getting his brand-new 7360-V8S repaired, it seems to me that they are not very focused on the revolver market anymore. Putting much more interest into their 1911 clones. They kept saying that nothing was wrong with the gun, when in fact it would misfire 50% of the time. The headspace was so excessive that you could see it with the naked eye ! After many conversations, pleading, (and legal threats) (ha-ha) - they finally fixed it !

I agree with the above poster too.  They seemed to be involved in thier semi autos.  For me its very sad to see this as I was a huge advocate of DW but I don't see them carring much about there revolvers or not as much as they used too when trying to resurect the company. I wish they would focus more on revolvers and give us more options. THey used to respond to my e-mails very fast but now I wont get a responce at all.

Oh well

Yes, I was a die-hard Dan Wesson user for many years. In fact, I was the 2nd person to shoot a 40x40 in IHMSA, using a model 15-2H8 357 mag. True, some Dan's needed work, but, a trip back to the factory would usually fix the glitch. After seeing what they are doing now - (and I have a hard time saying this), I would neither own or recommend them. I still own a couple of model 15's that I would NEVER sell - but, I am not interested in their "new" stuff (again - my opinion)

I guess I have to go against the crowd on this one, I have both old and new build revolvers, and while I love my Monsons, the new guns have much better finish. I also own several of the new 1911's and they are excellent guns, I have contacted the factory a couple times, once for repair on a 1911, which was handled lightning fast (returned to me in 5 days repaired) and a couple times for parts on both my older revolvers and the new 1911's. The staff was courtous and shipping was fast. I only have good things to say about the current company and their products.  They can be hard to reach, don't use email, call them and leave a message, they will call you back. I do wish they would promote the revolver line more, but right now they are concentraring on the 1911 line, as that is where the proffit is.

In answer to the original question, the owner, Bob Serva, has indicated that there are currently no plans for a 500 caliber. (As well as no new caliber offerings any time soon- I was hoping for a 17)
It's kind of interesting, DW did consulting work with Smith & Wesson on the development of the 500, but have no plan to introduce them, I guess they want to stick with the "familiar" chamberings now & not invest in a lot of tooling for what may be a niche market.

For those that are looking for new Dan Wesson Revolvers, you should call the factory or go on Gunbroker where the are selling them direct.
There is a direct link on the DW website to the auctions, or you can do a search on Gunbroker for seller name   DW_Direct

Right now they are offering quite a variety.
