I think the ban did the opposite it sold more guns because most were afraid of losing more guns because they may add more to the list so right now there are a lot of sks's that have good homes and other semi-auto weapons that were not on the list yet too were bought up in many numbers so they really helped push the guys to buy up them when they never would of bought one before so the ban did some good in a way they never expected!!! Not only tell your senators and representative to let it die, but tell them you definitely don't want Schumer, Feinstein, et al adding to it!! And BigBill, I agree. Clinton and the AWB in '94 sold more rifles and Hi-Cap magazines than they ever thought about. We just don't need them "infringing" on our rights anymore!

Enjoy it while you can because if Kerry wins and the Dems retake congress, passage of a new anti-gun bill will be at the top of their agenda. They would like to outlaw all semi-autos (rifle & hangun) next time around. (They like to lump semi-auto & full-auto together. They don't seem to know the difference. One is as bad as the other to them.) Hope I'm wrong but everytime I see Feinstein on TV she's on a rant about evil "assault weapons" and the AWB sunset issue. I just hope the next AWB doesn't go further than the last one in restricting our rights.

The PRM (People's Republic of Maryland) has already proposed a more restrictive ban on the chance that the federal ban sunsets. I expect other socialist paradises will do likewise.
