CZ Varmint for SB?
« on: August 06, 2004, 02:57:49 AM »
While planning for improvements to my CZ Silhouette, instigated by CHunter, I came across the CZ 452 Varmint.  It has a heavy tapered barrel that one would think might be a better initial choice over adding weight.  Is the 452 Varmint legal for SB silhouette?

I'll probably continue modifying the 452 Silhouette since I've got it but it did cross my mind that the Varmint in a synthetic stock might have been a better start.  As is it is 7 lbs verses the Silhouette at less than 6.  Add the scope, rings and bases and I'm not sure what the total is yet.  Just an Idea.

CHunter.  Lets get started on the mods.  Email me with the details on the bases and rings.  I may have to get a scope with less sensitive eye releif.  Also, lets consider what's next on the stock.

Anyone have any other ideas please feel free to speak up.

Greg Connor,  has said that the CZ Varmint is legal for the hunter gun. Due to its barrel being tapered within the restricted dimensions.

For the bases, there seem to be lots of places springing up with stuff for the Cz.

Rings/Bases
Don Weathersbee dones a one piece base like on my 54.18
Don is DW Tool CO. 409-287-2826 or email dweather@ev1.net.

Eric Brooks makes these tall weaver adapters so you can use weaver style rings.

BKL also makes riser blocks and rings for mounting on the cz

My 452 Varmint makes the weight in Hunter class but my fiends does not. His scope is havier than mine. That's the only difference.
