how does it work in Texas

Just curious how the ccw application process work in Texas. I read in the local paper that Texas will not honor Missouri ccw permits because they can be issued before the FBI check is done. Mo law states that the permit shall be issued no later than 45 days after application no matter if the background checks are done or not. The county sheriff can then revoke the permit if the check comes back bad. What is different in Texas?
it's the Bill of Rights not the Bill of Needs

All checks must be completed before a permit is issued in Texas. It is not just a paperwork trail that is completed but an honest verification of the person with the available history checked. It may take as long as 90 days but not usually. The main point is, it takes as long as it takes to verify the person.
Then a permit is issued after the appropriate classes and test are taken.
