excited about new testing possibilites
« on: August 07, 2004, 03:47:58 AM »
ive go two reams of paper, onyon skin and  one 100 percent cotton comming, and a .360 sizer to squeez all down to groove diameter no matter what paper im  useing..  ill be leaving for vacation for a week and it all should be back here when i return.. the people where i shoot have been parking there cars in my way where  ive tested so much in national forest before work, so i guess we all need a break..  the gun shoots .359- .360 16-1  200 grain cast bullets beautifully with 10 grains of unique so some new patches, some different powder and hopefully ill get the drilling up to speed before hunting season..  its strange to note that the  16-1 .360 with 200 grain bullet will probably go right thru a deer at 1200 feet per second..  but what my tests show that a pure lead bullet at 1500 feet per second on 4 encyclopedias gives me some real  damage potential to soft skinned game like deer. in the brushy areas ill be hunting i feel this would be best  if i can get it to shoot under 9 inches at 100 yards.. that is i want under 4 inche groups, but 9 inches is what im getting with present loads and the problems ive conjered up for myself..  have a nice week. dave
