Hi guys,  I'm back again.  This is a little off topic to start with, but I had to tell someone.  A while back I asked about the value of a 30-30 Win.  We all agreed that it was a shooter and not a looker, so I tried to sell it for $250.00.  Nobody gave it a look.  I took it to Gander Mt. and got $475 for it on a trade for a SW 60 3 IN. 357.  All it cost me was $18.50 for the rest of the tax!  You were right about the trigger pull  compared to a sp101.  Much smoother at the break point.  It shoots good too. My only problem is that the loads I use are dirty.  4.0 bullseye and 13.0 h4227.  These are with 158 swc.  Accurate loads, but my hands are filthy after a few shots.  Does anybody have a similar load with a lot cleaner powder?  I sure could use one.  Also does anybody make a front sight insert with a coloered insert or a "ray bar" that sw used to make.  Black sights don't show up too good with tri-focals. Wrong focal distance when using a carry gun.  Thanks in advance

Stay away from H4227 for handgun loads. It's way too dirty. If your looking for top performance go with H110 or W296. Use mag primers or you will have problems with those two powders. If your looking for something a little more versatile, try W231. It will cover a fairly wide range of velocity.  KN

I have 2 handgun powders that serve me well for about every cal. and gun that I have ever loaded for. The powders are Bullseye and Win. 296. I use the 296 at or very near max. loads for my hotter hunting loads. Very good accuracy in every gun I`ve ever used them in. For my lite plinking loads I use the Bullseye. I would recomand you forget loading it in .357 mag. cases and put 2.5 to 30 grn. in .38 Sp. cases with 158 grn. semi-wad cutters and fire them in your .357. Don`t worry about the dirt in the barrel, 1 dry patch will wipe it out and it will not afect your accuracy.
