Got to look at one today at the gun show. $225.00, ammo $6.00 per 50.....
This one was blue/synthetic.  Anyone made a performance comparison against this one and the .17HRFM ?

The 17m2 is a step up from the 22Lr, not really comparable to the 17hmr. The 17m2 velocity spec is 2100fps compared to the 17hmr's 2550fps. If you are interested in a Petersen's Hunting review of the 17m2, pm me with your email address and I'll send you a scanned 100kb .pdf file of the magazine article.

I know where I can get the .17HM2 for $139.  They have CCI ammo at $5.99 a box.  I think I will buy the H&R today.

I bought the NEF 17HM2 today.  Cost was $135.00.  I bought two boxes of CCI and two Boxes of Hornady Ammo.  The CCI was 5.99 and the Hornady was 6.50 a box.

I mounted an old Weaver K4 Scope and sighted it in at 50 yards over the hood of my Toyota Tacoma pickup. 3 shot groups were from 3/4" to 1.5 as I dialed it in.  I shot one box of the CCI ammo.  I intended to get a more suitable scope and a better shooting support soon.  I am happy so far.
