Can you walk me through this?
« on: August 12, 2004, 11:59:17 AM »
Just want to say hello, I just found this board and it seems like the place to be.    :D

However, I am going to ask for some help right out of the box.
I have a Marlin 1895gs, and would like to wrap the lever with leather. Is there anyone with a picture of theirs? Or can someone describe how this is done, so as to look good.

I have tried and it keeps looking like my 2 year old Granddaughter did it.
Thanks for any help.

Develsrighthand,
I don't think i have ever seen one done like that my self, But would like to.
Since this is your second post let me say welcome to gbo, Now back to the topic, I don't think this would work for me since my hands are large and just will go in the lever as it is. It sounds like it would look good if it was done right. If you find out how to do this please let me know because i am going to get one of the larger loops for all my lever action rifles. Take care and stay safe..............Joe..............

http://www.andersonleather.homestead.com/braided_motorcycle_levers.html  This is one technique used in wrapping a motorcycle brake handle that should work fine on a lever.
