Suburbs hogs
« on: August 14, 2004, 12:03:40 PM »
Have a opportunity to take out some hogs in a subdivision that are wreaking havoc on the landscaping. How would you bait them in? I use a feeder on my hunting club but this is completely different. I have a small patch of woods to work with, I don't want to create a situation that brings them in permanently. I was thinking about a small amount of sour corn to bring them in and just spread small amounts of corn on the ground. Since I don't want to shoot at night, nor in the evening (the less boom boom getting the PETA tree huggers in a freazy the better) I was thinking about spreading the corn first thing every morning and then hunting for 9 to 11ish only after a couple days.

Any ideas are much appreciated.

i  would  use  straight corn from the bag  in my opinion  it  is the  easiest  and  most  effective  way  to bait  them other than a feeder  spreading it on the  ground  hiolds  them  well,  also  look  for very positive sign    wallow  areas  if  a  creek mud rubs  and bedding areas  i beileve  i  have posted  pictures  of  what  these areas  look  like   soured  corn  really attracts  coons   so  ya  dont  want  a  mess  of  coons  running around  plus  it  is  messy  to deal with
