Possible semi-auto ban in the Indiana house ...
« on: January 17, 2003, 03:50:59 AM »
Someone made me aware of this yesterday... has anyone else heard of this??? It looks to me as though they are quietly trying to slip ALL semi-auto guns in on this thing... I uploaded the .pdf file so you can just click on this link to read the bill... http://www.accs.net/users/drquick/hb1011.001.pdf

My best friend, Steve (Rocky) Smith of Smiths' Custom Taxidermy (link on my site map) just informed me that this same thing has been passed around the Internet before... He has convinced me that it only includes automatic and semi-automatic "assault" type weapons, and NOT hunting rifles, shotguns, etc... He put a great deal of emphasis on the fact that this has been passed around the net before, that the government has repeatedly said that it only includes assault weapons, and usually just stirs things up.... Have I just been sold the key to the batters box so to speak... I sure bit on it!! I does make me wonder about my beautiful 1911 with special African Rosewood grips, muzzle brake and some other loving mods that I have done to it.. It's a beautiful gun, one of my favorites to plink with and reload for, including molding my own bullets for. Lord I would hate to loose that to a bill like this...

Last I checked, the new demon is "sniper" rifles, so keep an eye on your hunting gun anyway.

Of course, if they came to take them away they'd want to get rid of the mean semi-auto's first so the hunting guns would be easier to nab.
Time is the fire in which we burn.

Subject: INDIANA HB 1011

The previous post about HB 1011 turned out not to be a hoax afterall. But, HB 1011 is not a Federal bill, but believe it or not, an Indiana State bill. Here is the link:

http://www.in.gov/serv/lsa_billinfo?year=2003&session=1&request=getBill&doctype=HB&docno=1011

It was introduced by V. Smith, figures, so get those pencils sharpened. I don't think it has much chance of passing, but better make your voices heard!

Again, this only applies to Indiana.
