Misfires
« on: August 15, 2004, 07:33:00 PM »
Got to shoot my SS contender for the first time the other day with a 7x30 waters bbl on it, and it was misfiring more than half the time. I switched to the 30 Herret bbl and it was better, only misfiring a few times out of 20. This frame has the c/r selector and the striker pin for the center fire doesnt stick out as far as the one for the rim fire. Seems this is causing the firing pin to come up short. anything i can do myself, or should it go back to T/C? Also i can see a gap between the top of the barrel and the frame, is this normal? Thanks- Tad :D

Firing pin

I had the same problem with one of my Contender frames. I talked to TC tech support and they sent me a new firing pin and spring.  The guy declared that there is nothing to replacing the pin and new spring.

I haven't got around to doing it yet, but the new firing pin and spring was sent to me by TC for free and it is on my desk looking at me.
