39A Jam?
« on: August 18, 2004, 12:45:16 PM »
New purchase-old rifle. I cleaned this rifle and lubed sparingly then stepped
out to give it a try. Loaded 10,jamed trying to chamber the 5th round,
cleared the jam and loaded 10 and same jam on the 10th round. Both jams were same, upon pulling apart the lead on the Federal round was
still in the tube hole and the case was angled with the rim pointing up
at the bolt, lever was jamed in the down position. Rifle has the coil main
spring. Any thoughts? Thanks up front Aaron (lead had not bent, just had not cleared the mag tube hole)

A 39a i got 40 years ago, always jammed when my left-handed brother shot it. crazy, huh?

Never jammed for me (I'm right handed).

Now it jams once in a while for my right-handed son, it seems, because he sometimes turns the rifle ejector side up when he operates the lever.

I never did anything about it because -- hey!-- it works for me.
