Gun Safes
« on: August 21, 2004, 09:56:44 AM »
I've been looking at gun safes and am looking to spend $1500 to $3000 for a good one.  The local dealer has Heritage, Liberty, Cannon and others.  What are some of the things I need to be looking for in a safe?  I want something about 42"X28"X72", and it's going to sit in the family room on carpeted concrete floor so it needs to look nice!  Any suggestions or advise appreciated....

How do you make a gun safe attractive? Do you make an old fashioned display case, except the window is 1" plexiglass like bank tellers hide behind?

I'd be tempted to get a good steel fireproof safe, stick it in the corner, and build a triangular china cabinet in front of it for camoflage. It sounds like your budget would cover that.
