For those of you that have a Handi in '06.  What bullet weight/type does yours seem to prefer?  Do they handle the 165 and 180gr OK?

I've had good luck with Remington Core-Lokt 150grain from Wal-Mart.

I hand load.  Bullets don't seem to matter.  The powder seems to be the most crutial factor.  My favorite bullets are the Speer 125TNT, Sierra 165 Boattail, and the Nosler 180.  With the 125s I can hit a clay target at 300 yards all day.  With the 165s I can hit it at 500 yards consistantly.  I have a Sheppard 6X18 scope on this Handi 30-06.

Oh I forgot the best powders for me are IMR-3031, and IMR-4831.

And I got a Caribou Satruday morning with my Handi and the Nosler 180s.  I would normally use the 165s, but we were plagued with grizzlies and the 165s are too light for that area.

I load a lot of speer 150gr hotcore psp with IMR 4350 and get really good groups.
ive only loaded one 180gr (also speer hotcore) they didnt group as well.

as for factory loads....i have got to go with 10ga on this one the rem 150gr corelok gave really good groups....and hit hard.
