I talked to him today, he said if he had to get the barrel in rough form and thread, drill tap, dovetail, chamber and contour it the cost would run in the $400+ range. If one could get it from marlin mostly fitted he could just chamber & install, would be much cheaper. He was figuring the rough barrel at about $200. I had a 7-30 and liked the little round a lot but don't consider it any better than the 3030. A round I'd love to have is a 25 waters. Or a 25-35 A.I. type of thing. I'd buy one tomarrow If I could. It would be legal for deer here and would be a great half flat shooting coyote round.
