39A mis-fire

Recently shot my first .22 lever action silhouette match, and had several mis-fires with new Marlin 39A.  Short of sending the rifle back to Marlin, has anyone else run across this problem?  Any fixes?

Also would appreciate any recommendations on ammunition type that works best for Marlin 39A.
