ATV Kawasaki Mule transmission problems
« on: August 25, 2004, 01:10:04 PM »
We have a Kawasaki Mule 1000 that we use in our orchard.  It will not stay in gear.  Have checked
shifting fork
gears and lever
shift drum bearing
shift cable adjustment
gears ok
shift drum ok
shift fork pin shifting cable.
Made adjustment to book specs and it is better  but is still not ok, stays in gear in reverse.
I feel that it is some kind of adjustment, any ideas?

you describe what you mean by won't stay in gear?  What is it doing?  When you shift the lever to forward does it begin to move and then just sits a revs the engine with no 4ward movement?  Does it do this in 4ward only?  Works in reverse?   Have you called the Kawasaki help line?
I will get the # for you.

They do not list the # for the technical hotline, but I assume from their web site that your dealership would have it.
