BigBill,

What is your opinion on the quality of the Turkish 8mm Mauser? My gunshop has several that have been there for several years. I really want a Yugo M48 or a Czech VZ24 for my Mauser, but I could get one of these guns easier.

Is there a difference in strength or is it more of an appearance/status symbol?

Please advise.

To me its a 98 action that takes a small ring barrel thats as good as any 98 is.  My turk has a 29" barrel which the longer barrels are a tad more accurate over the shorter carbines with 23" barrels.  I had to have a few different mausers in my collection and the turk was my very first buy with my C&R FFL.   Some can be had still affordable too.         BigBill
