If you could pick one remington....
« Reply #30 on: November 23, 2004, 12:30:02 PM »
I was going to say my s/s Remington 700 BDL synthetic stocked 300RUM but have been shooting my new s/s Remington 700 LSS 375RUM and have fallen for it as well. I also have a Rem 700 Mountain rifle with a synthetic stock in 280 that groups 3 inches at 300 yards.
I think the way this question should have read is which Remington you don't want? My 7400 synthetic stocked  30-06 carbine.  Have had nothing but problems with it. Most unreliable piece of junk that I own!

I just put a .35rem 7600 carbine on layaway and will pick it up dec.11. It is brand new and the last one this shop has. It will be a perfect companion to my 7600 in .35 whelen

I'd have to say( for a deer rifle) it would be a 788 carbine in .308
I used to have one , (If you missed with that rifle ,it was your fault). But I
lost in a really screwed up deal.
I've got a .243 carbine now with a 6X Loopy on it and it is a sweet little
rifle.  I know they were cheap rifles when they were new, but I dont know anyone who has owned one that didnt love it.
Please write me off of GB outdoors, I do not want to be a part of it any more.

A Remington 700 CDL in .30-06. I'd put a Montana sling, and a Bushnell 4200 3X9-40mm scope on it.

I like it because it's a highly accurate traditionally styled rifle in the best of all calibers.

I would have to have a big offer to let my 788 222 go,  It has shot great with any bullet i have shot from it, and since i restocked it with a boyds thumbhole and had it fiberglass bedded she really shoots. I dont own any other remingtons, but the xr 100 204 does catch my eye ;)

If you are talking about having only 1 gun-and its a Remington.  You have to go with an 870.  Can kill everything from doves to deer to grizzlies with it.  And with a slug barrel nowadays you can shoot to 250 yds +.  I'd like to see all of you that chose a rifle try and get a nice meal of green-winged teal with it.

Think about it fellas! lots of other manufacturers make good bolt action rifles, BUT remington is the only one who makes a highpowred pump action rifle. so on that note make mine a 7600/7615 please

It'd have to be a 700 CDL AS in .30-06.
