Gander Mountain

Anybody been to a Gander Mountain store? I see they opened one up in Johnson City about an hour from my place. Are they really well stocked? I hate going to stores that don't have much or being told they "can order it". How big are they, and do they have a good selection of quality gear?

Qtip:  last I saw, heard, read, Gander Mountain was one of those 'huge' places that is continually well stocked with just about everything a guy or gal could want.

If they are opening a store in Johnson City (just down the road from Elmira???) I would give it a couple of weeks until theya re in full swing before I went with intent to buy something.  Nothing worse than walking into a place that has just opened and they still haven't gotten their shelves stocked yet.  Just my two cents worth though.  Mikey.

There is a Gander Mtn store 2 miles from my house...It is an incredible store...I still try to buy my stuff from the local business community but if I can't find it there then I will check out Gander.  I go to the one in Buffalo...Actually it is located in Tonawanda but who the heck knows where that is.

I've been to the Gander Mountain in Rochester, nice store and well stocked, particularly compared to lameo Dick's. Bass Pro's, like in Auburn, are bigger and cooler in my limited experience.

I am talking to some buddies about going to the Cabelas in PA, that would be HEAVEN (okay the prices aren't that great, but Disneyworld isn't cheap either). :-)

AAAHHH! Cabela's!!  Raging480 and I made the trip to Cabela's last spring.  It is worth the trip just to see the store and everything in it.  It took us almost 4 hours to get through the whole store.  we even ate lunch right in the store.  When you go, either bring your wallet or your self control.  they have a lot of nice stuff.

I've been to the store in Johnson City. Not always the best prices but they were very well stocked. I think you would have to want something that is really off beat for them not to have it in stock.>John

A new one just opened in Watertown about an Hour from me. I am thinking I will go check it out this weekend and see what they have to offer
