17 HRM , 17 HM2 barrels

would it be possible to convert one of the new 17 HRM or HM2  barrels to a 17 cal  centerfire?
I am thinking about saving up to get one in 17 HM2, but I am not convinced that they will not go the way of the 5 MM remington.  I don't want to be stuck with a barrel that will  winding up just be taking up space in my T/C case.

Just takes a simple rechamber job to go to a longer 17 whatever.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

HMR barrel

It's a 23" barrel. Came on my G2 contender frame I just bought. Mounted a 6-18 scope on it yesterday and shot it. I will have to say that the HMR barrels are very accurate. I have wanted a ackley hornet barrel for a while though. after shooting it now I'm not sure what I want to do. dave

My 16.25" bull barrel .17 HMR will hold under an inch with a 9x scope and Hornady ammo.

I'm very pleased with it.

If the ammo goes obsolete, I'll have it rechambered, probably to a .17 Ackley Hornet.
