Marlin Model 16yn .22 bolt action Single Shot
« on: August 29, 2004, 11:17:13 AM »
Well I see that this is probably where this belongs as I had posted this message in the " Marlin Rimfire Thread" I'm going to copy & past it here for someones benefit also.

MESSAGE:

I've have one of these in the basement that used to be for my boy when he was younger. It hasn't been used to it's full potential in a LONG time.

It is still in really good shape and was wondering if someone here had a youngster needing a GOOD solid youth stock and barrel model rifle in .22 caliber.

This isn't the right thread I'm sure for this question,... but it is a Marlin brand rifle, ... and I'd like to see a NEW youngin' get some enjoyment out of shooting. If there is anyone on this board who knows of someone who would like to introduce the shooting sports to a young one,.. but can't afford to purchase a new rifle for him or her to use,.. please contact me via a PM or email. The only fee he would have to pay would be the transfer and shipping fees.

I'll post up a picture of it later today

Here's a picture of that Marlin .22 Rifle,... It takes either one of the following shells: .22 Short, Long, and Long rifle.

I'm sure some youngster would LOVE to own this rifle.  8)

I just wanted to let everyone know that this rifle has found itself a new home pending the transfer paperwork,.... it seems that there is a young lady out they who's just dying to have her daddy teach her how to shoot     8)

Thanks to all who took a moment to look!

Terry,
Well done.  I teach a 4-H program and about half of our rifles are donations from kind folk like yourself.  I hope this young gal wears the barrel out on your rifle.

Thanks dawg_doc,...

You know I never even thought about the 4-H program   !
Our daughter is a long time member of it, but I don't remember seeing a shooting program within our 4-H system  :?

The only thing she gets involved in is the horse shows at the fair,.. she does quite well at them too.
