I've never used or experimented with fox meat as a canine bait so I can't say whether that would be a good idea or not. Whether you use the fox meat or another meat, adding the glands and other ingredients is a good idea. I would cube the meat into 1" squares and taint until the chunks are brown about half way through but still pink in the middle. Tainting is best in a cool dark place or buried in the ground. Do not fill a container like a glass jug more that half full so the bait has room to expand. Cover the top with several layers of cheese type cloth so bugs or flies can't get in and gasses can escape and secure tightly with a rubber band. Once the bait is tainted where you want it, add 2 ozs of sodium benzoate per quart of bait. It is best to dissolve the sodium benzoate in water first and pour it completely over the bait so it can soak into and permeate the chunks better and quicker. Then I would add the glands and other ingredients. One doesn't have to overdo the ingredients, don't underestimate the canines sense of smell. Per quart of bait, an oz or two of of fox gland and a quarter to a half oz of tonquin and other ingredients would be plenty. One should also add about 8 ozs of glycerine as an anti-freeze. Once the preservative, ingredients and glycerine is added, place the bait back in the cool dark place or re-bury it and let it age for as long as possible, the longer the better but it should be at least a month. Good luck! Ace :-)
