Things are definitely looking better than last year. Hunted opening day at our usual public WMA and our group had good success. We had a mixed bag of Mallards, Widgeon, Teal, Scaup, and one Shoveler. We carried a new guy on his first waterfowl hunt. He had a ball and at the end of the day asked if he could have the shoveler to have mounted. I hope things hold out. If not, our first day was still better than all of last year's days combined.
