I have a Savage 99f, in super shape. Sure it has wear that adds to its character, where it has been held while hunting. The stock is walnut,
and has nice figure for a production gun. There are no dents, etc.
The finish / original varnish was non existant. About a year ago, I put on a coating of Beechwood Casey stock finish... It's way to glossy for me
and not original looking... This is my go to deer rifle, with only 35 shots through it... I want to make it look like it did in 1955. At least stock wise.
I have taken off all finish with nail polish remover...Wood is terrific!!!
Where do I go from here?
