Thanks for the info, good to know. Sounds like you saw some neat stuff at the shoot. What's a normal price to pay for !f blackpowder? They want from $17 to $20 per pound at the local gun stores. Thanks

The vendor near Ft. Shennendoah that markets black powder was not present (just off site) when I was there.

Black (Goex) runs 18.95 a pound locally here (SW Virginia).

Why not just buy it by the case from a distributor?  It is a heck of a lot cheaper that way.  If you don't need the whole 25 pounds yourself, then get a few of your friends to split a case with you.

EvilDog,

Tim was at the distributors shop.  The distributor was over at the shoot.

You are right about getting if from the distrubutor cheaper maybe.  In our Cannon shooting resource list we have a listing for the Distributors.  One will even sell you 5 lbs cases instead of 25 lb cases.  Just keep in mind that shipping charges and haz mat fee just might bring the price up to what you pay locally.

Tim,

I am coming down in a couple of weeks or so.  If you want to contact Back Creek and place a will call order, I will go pick it up for you and bring it down.
