I just bought Nosler's 5th. edition and noticed that there is no loading info the the accubonds. I was hoping to load some 200gr. with rl-22 in my 300rum. How does everyone else load these up. I was thinking of using the partition spitzer data but noticed base of the bullet is not incapsulated in copper. A mighty thanks for any info.[/b]

Give Nosler a call on their toll free phone line and ask. I'm sure they will tell you. If I'd read this question a bit sooner I could have asked when I got a call from Carl there a bit earlier. Nosler will be Sponsoring the Bolt Action Rifle Forum here at GBO and will become out newest advertiser.

But I'm using BT data in my loading of them at this time. The basic differences in them are bonded core/jacket rather than unbonded and a bit thicker jacket. Data for the PT is generally always the same or lower than for the BT I think.

The way their manual is laid out I suspect there will be no "new" or "different" data on them. I suspect the same weight bullets will just be grouped together. But call and ask.

By the way Nosler is coming out with a BRAND SPANKING NEW PRODUCT real soon. Production is already underway and some is in hand ready to ship. The announcement date is Sep. 15 and I'll be putting out the details then. I'll be getting some for review and a report also very soon. Not free to discuss specifics now but will be on the 15th.

I have been shooting the Accubonds out of my 7mm and 280. Like GB said, Nosler seems to lump all of their bullets together in the same weight so I just followed their loads.

GB that is great news about their becoming a sponsor on the site. :grin: I am really looking forward to the announcement. I am hoping for the Accubonds in 150 or 165 in the 30 caliber bullets.

With Hornady offering those two weights in their Interbond line I can't imagine Nosler not eventually coming out with them also. I do know they will be expanding the Accubond line as time goes on. Well assuming they sell OK anyway and I figure they will. Seems I recall last time John R. Nosler and I spoke I asked him about a 6.5 Accubond and he told me it was in the works when they get caught up from other new projects under way.

Shot the 7mm 140 gr. Accubond in my 7-08 Improved today. Inital tests were ok at best with 1 1/4 inch groups @ 100 yds. I'm beginning to think that this gun doesn't like Varget, as it hasn't shot anything other than factory Federal ballistic tips better than .8. Most hand loads I've tried are shooting 1 to 1 1/2 inches. This is a completely custom built gun so I feel as though its capable of alot better. Thinking about some 4064 powder now.

I have tried Varget in several of my rifles and was never happy with the results. I know that many shooters like it, but for me it was a no go. But I have had excellent results with the Accubonds in my 7mm and 280.
