Has anybody used em'? I wanted to try some...but since I live in the backwoods    I get a monthly trip to the booming metropolis of NE PA....Scranton. And I had to stop at Circuit City to get speakers...and a Dick's Sporting Goods Store was right there...no sense driving to Gander Mountain (another chain of sporting goods store) on the other side of the plaza...so I got stuck w/ good ol' Express Core-Lokt's since Dick's didn't carry Scirocco's nor Premier Core-Lokt's.

I have hand loaded the Swift Scirocco for my 30'06 and 7mm Remington Magnum. They group GREAT in the old '06 but the Swift Scirocco is the worst shooting bullet I ever fired from two of my 7mags...I never tried them in my fire-lapped 7mag so I don't know if all .284s shoot them poorly or just my Remington 700 and Ruger M77.

I have also tried the Remington factory loaded Scirocco and although they are a good factory load, if they shoot good in your gun, I believe they are WAY OVERPRICED!!! especially if you find out they shoot like crap...

The Swift Scirocco works good on game but I HIGHLY recommend using Federal Premium Nosler Partition for larger game and the Federal Premium Nosler Solid Base for medium sized game...just my opinion.

I am thrilled that Nosler re-released the old Solid Base and am even happier Federal added them to the Premium line...go to Wal-Mart, buy em and love em. :agree:

7MagWoodsman,
Yep, you are way too picky. As far as me shooting the Swift Scirocco
Just can't do it. Im just a poor little ol man on welfare and have to sell
Pinones on the streets in scary town N.M. just to get by.

Have never had the opportunity to try them, I have thousands of all kinds of bullets and figgered i should shoot them before buying any more. I have some that i've had for probably thirty five years or more. Its going to take a while before i need more. I have been pretty lucky here lately.
I have been getting lots of orders for ammo, Kinda keeps me at the loading bench. Take care Pard............Joe...........

No sir, not me. Especially when it comes to bullets  I have many "favorite" bullets, but factory loads are a rarer breed, and I don't think our buddy, Fishman, reloads. Neither do I at the moment, but I used to and will again...hopefully....

When it comes to factory loads I am a Remington, Federal, Hornady fan...I recommended the Federal Premium Nosler Partition and Solid Base so strongly  because they are a readily available, at least here in the South Eastern part of our wonderful country, and are GREAT consistent performers in my opinion...Oops I forgot to mention Black Hills Ammunition, and since they cost the same as Remington Sciroccos, I would rather have Black Hills Gold loaded using Barnes's Moly Coated Boat Tail...

To be honest I have always liked the Sierra Hollow Point Boat Tail.
The Hornady Soft Point Interlock...anything Barnes...and whatever shoots good in the particular gun and cleanly downs game makes me happy.
For whitetail size critters I still like the CORE-LOKT although many people would rather throw stones than use em...

Do you load for other folks? If so, by what quantity? Do you happen to have any .284 Sierra MatchKings laying around???

Works for me. :agree:
I agree bout the buggers...Remember, if you hear a noise it is probally something that won't hurt you, cause if the bugger man is going to get you, he will stalk up on you silently, at least that's what I was always told as a kid.

7Mag,
Been a long day at the bench today, Forgot t eat lunch. Yes i have some 150 gr match king hp.s. Down to five boxes, Have some guys that use them on a regular basis. One feller comes by about every three weeks to drop his brass and pick up his new loads. He has several rifles and pistols
in 7mm. OH BY THE WAY the Item # on these is 1915 Sierra. I sure do need to take a few days to get my loading shack in order,,, Have to do this about every two years or it gets to the point i can't find any thing. I spent about thirty min.s looking for a funnel this morning. I guess i will scan the web for a few and fix me some supper,, Catch you a little later.
