Whats the difference?
« on: September 11, 2004, 05:46:54 AM »
Just wondering what the difference was between factory and custom shop barrels. Quality of rifling or chamber? Are they more accurate? Also if any one could tell me what kind of velocity i can expect from a 7x30, 130 gr.,in a 24" barrel?  Thanks so much- Tad :D

The Custom shop barrels are suposed to be hald to tighter tolerinces, hence be better shooters. You can also get tight necked chambers form a custom shop. Wether they are worth the extra money or not depends upon what you are willing to pay for alittle better accuracy.

Beside what catfish also said the difference is the chambering options.  Heck, I would laugh my @%& off and be the first in line to buy one the day T/C makes a factory .50-140 3 1/4" sharps bbl   .
