Dealer reputation?
« on: September 13, 2004, 09:38:53 AM »
I'm interested in experience-based opinions of reputation of the following dealers (especially as related to Air Arms guns): PyramidAir, Compasseco, Airguns of Arizona. Is there anyone else better in the US? Thanks. Peter F.

PeterF.,

PyramidAir - http://www.pyramydair.com/very large dealership that has some very good buys but is so large that they sometimes forget the customer.

Compasseco, Inc. - http://www.compasseco.com/newer company on the scene but are trying very hard to please their customers.  At this moment their are somewhat logged down and are back ordering some items.  A good company to do business with.

Airguns of Arizona - http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/Another excellent company to deal with.

Airgun Express - http://www.airgunexpress.com/ very similar to PyramydAir just not as large

Airgun Depot - http://www.airgundepot.com/ small company compared to PyramydAir.  Sometimes problems with shipping and back ordering.  Another good company.

Hope this helps.  Lawdog

If you're looking for a good AA dealer that will not forget who you are after you buy, Airguns of Arizona is the place. They have an excellent reputation, and do a lot of AA work.

Although not AA I have bought from Straight Shooters, Compasseco and Pyramyd Air with no problem or regret, being the former the more courteous and helpful of the three.
I also have to mention Pilkington Competition and Don Nygord as better dealers although they specialize on match guns and competition shooting equipment only.

For the best price and service I would recommend Marty at SilverStreak but I think he's just about closed his doors to pursue other endeavors.

I hear Steve at Pomona Air is great and he offers AA power modifications and price matching as well.  I've personally met the guys from AOA and I wouldn't have a problem buying from them either and Tim at Mac 1 is awesome as well.

For more airgun info/dealers check out WWW.AIRGUNINFO.COM

I can't recommend Straight Shooters, nuff said there.

Guy's, I have NO dog in this fight. However, I've heard nothing but GOOD things about Kevin and Craig at SS.

Are you pointing to some actual dissatisfaction in dealing with them, personally, or merely how protectionist they are with their forum?

I haven't bought a lot from Straight Shooters but they have provided me a lot of good advice.  I like their pellet samplers and one of my guns originally came from SS.  They may be a little higher priced but they offer a lot of support service and I value all their product test information.

Sales issue.  Same problem 3 times in a row and the following arguments with them over who was at fault in ordering.  3 strikes and they're out!!!  Small groups and tight lines to you.  Lawdog

Gotcha. I talked to one fellow who had a beef with AoA, also. However, I think it's simply a case of "you can't win them all."
