Once in a while when I go to certain internet sites, none of the graphics show up.  Where there should be a picture etc., there is just a little box with a red X in it.  Why?

This morning I was using the other computer and every website except our home page came up with red Xs.  So far this afternoon everything is coming up okay on this computer.

The fact that you can get to them successfully now demonstrates that there's probably nothing wrong with your computer.

A lot of times you'll find sites or posts where the photos that you see are actually hosted on another site or server that is separated from the server with the HTTP code or page that you are executing when you "open" the site.

Occassionally a network component will be out of service or temporarily unavailable due to increased traffic, maintenance, or malfunction and your path or route to the image component might not be available.

Maybe the network that you attach to had a router down somewhere.

Well, now both computers are working just fine.  I'm thinking it might have been a problem with the dial up connection or with our ISP.

Ya just had a lousy internet connection at that moment in time. Not all of the page loaded. When this happens it's always the graphics that fail to load. What type connection do you have? Dial up, cable or satellite?

Forget the pop up blocker crap.  Go to Mozilla.org and downlaod Firefox 1.0.  This is another browser that will not only stop popups but will about stop all malware (spyware) from being installed on your pc.  Forget about using Internet Explorer (which is crap) and use Firefox.  No, I do not work for'em.
