Selleck does it again!
« on: January 19, 2003, 07:39:32 PM »
Well guys and gals Tom Selleck did it again just watched Monte Walsh on TV and as usual Selleck made a great western!! Was interesting seeing a Winchester 1987 shotgun being used. Also a big bore Winchester rifle looked like a 45/70 or 45/90 from the size of shell used. Best thing I have seen on TV since his last western and of course I still like Quigley. I wish he would make a sequal to that one. Sure beats those reality shows! You know I cannot figure out why westerns are not being made more often now with cowboy action shooting being so popular and repo western arms being made by leaps and bounds today. Also us baby boomers who grew up on westerns like them and we are a large segment of the population today. I know the industry caters to the youngsters but we have the money to spend on what we like, more so I would think. Jim

Did anyone catch where it was filmed?  Scenery was fabulous.  Was a little surprised to see who they picked to play Shorty.  He's currently a regular on one of the CSI series.  Thought all the other actors were very believable.  Movie was slow paced, but I really enjoyed it.

Filmed in the Peoples Republic of Canada.

That bothers me because Mr. Selleck is such a progun advocate and the Canada is so anti gun.

One of the Canadian SASS members I have sold some clothes and some reloading stuff to bought a couple of guns from the US. I remember he had quite a time getting it shipped to him but he did get it done. Wonder how a movie company has to deal with them? I'd guess these were real firing guns, not just props.

Yes they were restored origionals. As far as Canada go's you cannot fault all the gun loving people living there for their Government. The Government is anti gun but a lot of its citizens are not, just like England and Austrailia.  Jim
