I got this info off of a other forum I posted on about the Monte Walsh movie. A member replied that Selleck had 2 of the 1887 shotguns and 2 1886 SRC in 50/ 110 restored for the move at a cost of $30,000 bucks out of his own pocket to keep the movie historically accurate. I can see that as Selleck is a gun lover like the rest of us and can afford to have the restoration done. Jim

No, read it again. He said he spent $30,000 on the movie, not just on 4 guns. He bought saddles, could have bought plenty of other stuff for other cast members. He does put some money into all of these movies, not just on his character.

Yea I know I found that out after I read it I was going on what the other forum had said before I read the article. I thought it was cool that he used a WI gunsmith to do the work as I am from WI  Jim

Well, if you are as good at what you do as he is at what he does, you can work for me any time. I'd didn't realize what a bigshot he was until I got around these cowboy gun sites. Seems like a nice guy from what I hear, too.
