a guy i worked with a year ago at a sporting goodas place had bought a mint numbers matching Longbranch No.4. i was asking him if he still had cuz i'm interested in collecting CDN sevice rifles. well he went and did the unthinkable. he sporterized it. but at least it went to a compotent smith. anyways he was telling me what he had done to it and he mentioned something about reaming or altering the chamber to better shoot 150 gr. bullets. now he is an avid hunter and shooter who knows what he is talking about, but do i know what he is talking about? no. has anyone heard of such a job, and would it really help accuracy?

i heard of reaming out a chamber  to make seating bullets longer but just for shooting a pedicular bullet weight i don't know. i do know that a lot of guys when they have their custom rifles made they will tell the smith what bullet he wants to use and how far out he wants it and the smith will cut to that spec.  thats probably what he's talking about but i really don't know.
