:D Digger, I sure got to get a bow stringer for that big boy. I got it strung up with some help then he took off, I layed it down and had to go replace a belt on the old washing machine    took about 2 hours to figure that one out. Finally got the new belt on and the machine back together, went back too the MONSTER and the string had all ready stretched  to far so now I got to take the string back off and twist it up some more    but can't do it by myself  :(  so it's wait fer one of my super hero's which happen to be either one of my two sons :)

Congrads. on your new Excalibur GaryL. They sure are sweet.  My Exocet has me smiling.  Hope to get out and sighted in at the longer ranges tomorrow.  Even my Exocet string needed to be shortened two or three times before it finally settled down.  Best of luck, and good shooting.

I have restrung this Max twice and have never shot it as yet, now need to restring again as JUST from sitting it has streched again and needs to be twisted up again.  We will get it...but it is only gonna be used as my BIG GAME crossbow :) elephants, cape buffalo, rhino  :-D ect.

Gary, I heard you were getting a Point Blanc to make your Excal set complete. Did you get yourself a Paradox? Or are you not counting a compound as an excal. :-D  :)    8)

Right on for the Point Blanc, that makes my collection of Excalibur Rcurve xbows complete.[/color] I am definitely going to add the Paradox as it is a Excal.  My xbows are only complete if you look at it as one of each line, Relayer, Wolverine, Vixen, Exocet, Mag and Max.. But not if you look at it in POUNDAGE as Exocet 165 - 175, still need a 165lb Exocet but will have to wait. I have both the 185 and 200LB Mags.

Smooth trigger, nice sound when it go's off (twanging sound) string kept it's brace height so far, but a few more shot's and I will by no doublt have to re do it.  :-D

wabi I was shooting 425gr bolts, did not crony or sight in as I only had a few min. to play. I been snowed under last few days with seting up a few computers. I had a customer waiting on me to get his computer up and running and he helped me restring the Max, then we went out and shot a total of 5 bolts just too see if the string was going to stretch any more.

It did not, he took a couple shots said he would like one then we quit and I got back to setting up his system. Maybe tomorrow I will get sighted in and crony the 425gr bolts. Still have two systems setting here for restore of the hard drives   they get'em locked up and can't figure out how to restore their system back up.

Confused? I put the string on my crossbow and shot it as is. ( Barnett Ranger straight prod) Same with my new string. My instruction book said nothing about twisting strings ect.  I am guessing you are twisting the string to shorten it I am confused as I do not remember my string stretching noticably? Will all bows stretch their strings noticably?  What is brace  height also? My xbow shoots good as is but now you have me wondering if I have to do some thing extra for upkeep?

With most stright prods/limbs you should have a brace height....Brace height is from a point on your rail/prod to where your string sets in the strung position. On a Excalibur this is where the prod joins the rail and is set at around 1" to 1 1/2". Check your specs and see if the give you a brace height...Might check rheir web site also. String stretch is a thing with all long bows, recurve and recurve/stright xbows.

wabi I shot the monster today and cronyed it at 328fps, with a lazer II goldtip with brass insert front, 125gr field tip, 4" feathers. Bolt weighed a little over 425gr-+gr Still need to sight in, by moving my speed dail up too 350fps it was right on at 10, 20, and 30 yrds but that says resight in.

Will do this week end if'n it dont rain, set the dail at 330 and sight that monster in. :-D

I shoot the Max a little more yesterday, string  is keeping its brace height of 1 1/4", tried 2216's 125gr tips weighed in at 436.5gr and was hitting the same as the 425gr at 20 and 30 yrds..did not speed test as I did not really have the time. Seems like a good com. at them ranges..want to see what I get at 40yds maybe later this week. I sure like the sound this Max makes....POWER :-D
