Getting ready to ship gun off for the makeover.
Would like to hear from people that have a 500 and are casting their own bullets.
What mold are you useing?
Already have a 50 Alaskan. So I have sizer dies and some big molds.
500 gr and 570 gr but I think these would a little to big out of a handgun.

stick to bullets of  400 to 450 grain there about the best in the linebaugh. Some molds i have had good luck with are the ballistic cast 450 and 420 lfngc the 430 nie swc plain base ballistic cast 400 lfnpb lbts 400lfnpb and balistic casts 430lfnpb Ive played alot with the ballistic cast 480lfngc and the ballistic cast 505wfngc But in my opinion there a little to heavy for the caliber. Recoil gets real stout before you can get velocity out of them and they do no better in penetration test at the linebaugh velocites to justify them. My two favorite bullets have become the nei swc and the 450 lfngc.

I have an NEI mould 512-450-SWC that works great. The mould is on loan from www.cylindersmith.com I cast bullets for his Linebaugh. You might contact him for more info. I've only use this bullet in Lee Jurras' big single shot rifle (500 Jurras). At 1800 fps it's a thumper for sure but it does handgun chores fine at 900-1100.
